Product CGI Questions, Answered
Is product CGI as convincing as real photography?
For the vast majority of e-commerce and marketing applications, modern product CGI is genuinely indistinguishable from photography. It offers significant advantages: perfect lighting control every time, no physical sample logistics, instant background changes, and the ability to market products before manufacturing is complete.
What if I don't have CAD files?
No problem. Our modellers can build the 3D model from detailed product photos, physical measurements, technical drawings, or even a reference-quality image. The more reference material you provide, the more accurate the model — but we've built accurate models from surprisingly little information.
How long does it take to generate a new colorway once the model is built?
Swapping a material color or finish on an existing model typically takes a few hours of render time rather than a full new project. This is one of the biggest cost and time advantages of CGI over traditional photography for multi-colorway product lines.
What file formats are delivered?
We deliver in JPEG, PNG (transparent background), TIFF, and PSD as standard. We can also output WebP for web performance and specific sizing presets for Amazon, Shopify, WooCommerce, or any other platform you specify. Print-ready 300dpi outputs are always included.
